8/28/2017 0 Comments All About Invisalign ExpressIf your teeth are slightly crooked but you don’t want to wear bulky, metal braces, you might be a candidate for Invisalign Express. Invisalign uses clear plastic aligners to correct tooth alignment and bite problems without drawing undue attention to the treatment system. As the name suggests, the Express version of Invisalign allows you to complete treatment more quickly.
Conventional Invisalign usually lasts 12 to 18 months and uses 20 to 30 aligners. Each aligner is worn about two weeks at a time and is used to shift specific teeth into certain positions. With the Express version, you can complete treatment with as few as 10 aligners. This means that you could be done with your entire course of treatment in just 6 months. You might be a candidate for Express treatment if you: Need less than 1.5 mm of expansion per arch Need less than 2 mm of midline correction Have minimal rotation of your front teeth Have minimal crowding or spacing Have minor orthodontic relapse Invisalign trays are easy to put in and take out, so you can continue eating your normal diet and brushing and flossing the way you always have. When it comes to making an investment in the appearance of your teeth, you want to make sure you will be happy with your results and able to maintain them.
Many patients prefer dental veneers to other cosmetic dental treatments because of their overall effectiveness. Porcelain veneers are thin shells that are applied to the front of teeth to cover unsightliness, discoloration, slight misalignment or minor chips. You should get veneers if: 1. You want quick results 2. To avoid bleaching treatments that can cause sensitivity 3. You can commit to good oral hygiene 4. You want a natural-looking, durable smile Before veneers are applied, our dental veneer dentist will remove a thin layer of enamel from the front surface of your teeth. This is needed to make sure the veneer will adhere properly for a permanent seal. After, our dentist will take a mold of your teeth, so your custom veneers can be created. When you come back in approximately two weeks, our expert will apply your permanent veneers. You can take care of your veneers as you would your natural teeth by brushing and flossing as directed. Call our office to schedule a consultation for porcelain veneers. 8/14/2017 0 Comments Benefits of Metal BracesOrthodontic procedures can do wonders in improving the appearance of your teeth and protecting your overall dental health. Invisalign uses thermoplastic aligners to gently smooth your crooked or crowded teeth into better versions of themselves.
This program has a few perks. Depending on the severity of your case, you may only need to use the product for a year—as opposed to 18 months or longer for traditional braces. If you’ve had orthodontic work in the past and are using Invisalign’s spinoff, Invisalign Express, to fix your dental relapse, your treatment will take even less time. The pressures exerted by Invisalign work in a push-like way, rounding your teeth into shape in a series of two-week stages. This incrementalism requires you to exchange your aligners for a new set—again every two weeks. Each stage of your treatment builds on the last, ensuing your teeth straighten in a linear, noticeable way. Our expert in Invisalign in Torrance considers the finest perk of Invisalign to be its lack of interference in your daily life—you can eat whatever you want, simply removing your aligners before each meal or snack. And the aligners are translucent enough to fix your teeth in near-invisibility. For more, call our dentist in Torrance. 8/7/2017 0 Comments Why Braces Still MatterOrthodontic treatment might just be your ticket to the smile of your dreams. Treatment can be used to close gaps, create space in crowded jaws, or align the top and bottom teeth so that your smile looks and feels its best. Our San Francisco dentist can help you decide if treatment is the best choice for you.
Many new orthodontic treatments are available, including Invisalign and clear aligners. However, conventional metal brackets and wires continue to be one of the most reliable treatments in use today. Braces offer us the ability to treat virtually any malocclusion and fine tune the position of your teeth. Each bracket is bonded to an individual tooth, and the wires can be adjusted according to the treatment plan to create the desired results. While clear aligners are versatile and used in many ways to treat complex smiles, they are not typically able to address certain severe bite abnormalities. For these cases, conventional brackets and wires are usually recommended. Patients who want more discreet options might benefit from ceramic, clear or lingual brackets. Call today to find out more or to schedule your appointment. 8/2/2017 0 Comments How Do I Wear Snap On Smile?Snap On Smile is a wonderful smile enhancer for people with severe cosmetic issues, who may not have the budget for a smile makeover. Affordably priced, Snap On Smile is especially valuable to those who want improvements outside of the usual dental timeline. You just put it in, and take it out when you’re done.
Graduations, weddings, blind dates, and job interviews are ideal scenarios for Snap On Smile—or anywhere you want to make a strong first impression. This temporary quality is not a requirement, as you can leave your prosthetic in for as long as you like. You can even eat and drink with it in. The prosthetic itself is made of pliable resin that fits naturally over your existing teeth, hiding stains or other surface damage. Even chips or craze lines are obscured. If you have gum disease or systemic dental health problems, our cosmetic dentist in West Hollywood does not recommend Snap On Smile as a stand-alone treatment. This is why we refer to the product as a prosthetic—it has no healing value. But for coverage and confidence, simply slip on your Snap On Smile and wear it all day long. Call our office for more about Snap On Smile in West Hollywood. |
